The state has offt'U'd to cooperate with the city In the oiling work In return for the use of the city park as headquarters for the state equip ment while working south of JJan don. The Ban don concert, band- has been en gaged to go to Kugeno to take part In Hie Sunset Trail celebra tion to be held aL that city this month and will take part in the parade and other festivities during the entire thrcu days. The director of the band plans to do some timely advertising while at Kugeno and help to put Bandou oil the map for the people wiio will be unending the cele bration. Llnd and small children and brothers Donald and Norman Llnd, al! of Portland, ar rived in Winchester Bay last Sun day, where they are spending their vacation of a week enjoying the rishing, clamming and crabbing here. A two-year-old liquor case watr recently tried here and the defendant was found not guilty, mainly because the state's two witnesses had: died- in the meantime. J. S. Exchange telegraph dispatches from Bombay today said widespread floods were reported In the Slnd division of that province. At Sukkur barrage the entire township was sub merged, with 12 deaths. The Owyhee irrigation project In Mal heur county suffered a $50,000 loss by a fire at the dam and head works. A Klamath Falls lumber yard fire, $7,000 and a theatre fire at North Powder, $(J,000, compiise$5 the other major losses of over $5,000 during the month. In the list of known causes electricity and defective wiring stand at the head of the June losses with $56,972; rubbish and sparks are second in point of ag gregate damage with $51,071, and overheated or defective flues, chimneys, etc., were held respons ible for $16,724 of the total . Two -lires of incendiary origin inflicted damage in th eamount of $5,100; four explosion fires caused losses of $5,470, and 3a fires of unknown or undetermined origin exacted a toll of $57,8S5 upon tho state's economic resources.
