His next big tournament will he- the na tional amateur at Del Monte, Cal., In September. Hobby's last appearance in the Ilritish open was two years ago when he successfully defended tlie championship he won in 192tJ. lie also played in the 1021 tour nament, but failed to win. He en tered the Uritish amuteur twice in 1U21 and V.rtj, but failed both times. This is the only major championship he has never won.
