Britain will have no "lame duck" session of Parlia ment.- In a very short time the men who have been voted in; will take their seals. The interim between the old and new governments is so short as to be almost unnoliceable. Contrast that with our own custom of having; an elec tion ''n November, letting the outgoing congress sit all winter, aiid installing the new president in March. The contrast argues more powerfully than any comment we could make. ' If Senator Norris still has with him his old proposal for a constitutional amendment lo do away with all this de lay, he would do well lo brush it off and get it ready to re sulxmit. It is high time we adopted it. . 0 Theatre-goers will remember Mr. Gallagher and Mr. Shcan and their career a few seasons ago with their famous jingling topical song which played upon their names. Olson, formerly of Nam pa, Idaho, who is representative of the Hun Life Insurance company of Canada. FORMER RESIDENT DOUGLAS COUNTY DIES AT REDMOND PRINEVILLK, June 7. U. 8. Bushnell, for a number of years a rancher and resident of the Rob erts and Bear Creek locality, and more recently of Powell Butte, passed away at his home In Red mond last Friday, after an illness of some months. Mr. Bushnell, one of nine chil dren, was born at Roseburg, Ore.. July 26, 1865. For fourteen years he was engaged In the stock- busi ness in the vicinity of Myrtle Point, and about 20 years ago came to Central Oregon. He is survived by liia wife, three daughters, Mrs. Kate Colvin, Mrs. Myrtle Ferguson and Mrs. Dot Allen, all of Red mond; three sons, Lem, Story and Robert Bushnell, all of Redmond: two slaters, Mrs, Luclnda Ollphant and Mrs. Delia Howard of Itose burg; one brother, Allie BuslineU, also of Roseburg; besides other more distant relatives. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church In Red mond Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Ar thur R. Jones or Prinevlllo, who had been a lifelong friend of the deceased. Interment was in the Odd Fellows cemetery here. o DR. 8. L.
