The new steel, however, is as much harder than the sample as the sample was harder than the oriinal steel. '.'The company uubmltted, in making j their bid, a section of steel bar I with the agreement that the bam should be of equal hardness. The steel, however, for some reason filed to meet the test, and so is Ijt'inK replaced by bars that are considerably above ihe apeclfica t'ohs.
