! Archduke Leopold of Austria today
begun hlii work as a film extra to

lenses Count Laazlo Stechaiiyi,
Hungarian minister to the United
States.
The duel Is sought by Leopold
to avenge an Insult which he aald
the minister hurled at him two
weeks ago when the embassy de
clared "tactless" the archduke's re
quest that it handle a loan which
hn was attempting to floi t. Count
Szochenyi Is now In Europe. The
archduke wants to follow btm to
tight the duel. But It la a case, ac
cording" to hla secretary, Alfred
Neuhaidt. or the spirit being will
ing, even eager, but the pocketbook
woefully weak.
Beginning hie day at 8 o'clock
In the morning, the noble actor re
hearsed and tolled and perspired
before the camera all day. His
faithful secretary mopped the royal
brow arter each camera shot.
Since the bit played by the arch
duke, that of a German army cap
tain called for a crop -of hair, and
the. archduke, although young, in
approaching baldness, a toupee was
pasted upon his pate. .,
One difficulty arose. The arch
duke was required to salute a
general. Leopold could not regie
ter the correct salute.
"Excuse, please." he apologised
"I have never salute. In my coun

The matches today were .as -follows:

Bon Stein, Seattle vs. NelaKyei'

Moe of Portland: -
Dr. O. F. Willing of Portland, vs.
Chandler Egan of Med ford.
Doln yesterday defeated Tom
Green of Seattle and Don Moe of
his own home town to successfully
defend his crown in the first two
rounds of match play. Stein, run
ner up to Doln last year, in his ef
fort to again reach the finals of
the western tourney, conquered
Louis Klaue of Spokane and Dixie
Fleager, his club mate.
Held, the only one of, the seven
middle western qualifiers to sur
vive the first two rounds, elimin
ated Harold Thompson, Los Ange
les, and Chuck Hunter of Tacoma.
A hard struggle between the two
old rivals, Forest Watson of Spo-'
kane'and Dr. 0. F. Willing of Port
land, was settled at the nineteenth
hole when the Oregon man elimin
ated Watson with a par four at
the extra hole.
After playing sloppy golf for the
first ten holes, Chandler Egan puil
ed himself together and won the
eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, four
teenth and fifteenth, in succession,
to take the match, and eliminate
Emerson Cary of Hutchinson, Kan
sas. He shot birdies at the eleven-
nars at the twelfth and fifteenth.
The program calls for the 36 hole
semi-finals tomorrow with the fi
