game of the season at Dlllard next

NEW YORK, June 1. Directors
of the Northern Pacific railway to
day ratified an agreement between
Charles Donnelly, president of the
road, and Ralph Budd, president of
the Great Northern railway, where
by an extension of the Oregon
Trunk line will he built to connect
Bend and Klnmath Falls. Oregon.
The extension Is to be financed
by the Great Northern for the ac
count of the Oregon Trunk line.
WASHINGTON, June 1. An ac
ceptance by the Oregon Trunk rail
road of the Interstate Commerce
Commission conditions attached to
the project for construction of a
new Railroad from Bend to Klam
ath Falls, both in Oregon, was
filed today with the commission.
.Tinder its terms the Oregon
Trunk must proceed with construc
tion on or before July 27 and fin
ish within two venrs.

TESTING TAX LAW
PORTLAND, Ore., June 1.
Soven national banks of Portland
have filed suit in federal court
seeking to restrain T. H. Hurllmrt,
tax collector, from collecting $218,
000 taxes levied against shares of
capital stock of banks. The suit
was said to be the first move in a
fight sponsored by the Oregon
Bankers association against the
tax.
