An ordinance to give authority for eliminating disturbances inter ferlug with radio reception in the city 1b contemplated by the city council of Itoaebuif. This ordin ance has been under consideration B.or several months, hut has been delayed pending the uction of the Portland city government which has a similar proposition up for adoption. The Portland ordinance has been carefully worked out by expeit radio engineers and is plan ned so that it will be workable in every respect. The local coun cil has decided to wait until the Portland law has been adopted and then pattern the city ordinance after it, taking advantage of the work done in Ihe metropolis. The ordinance will bann the high frequeucy 'devices during night hours, except in emergency enses, and will probably require a license on all violet ray machines, x-ray machines or other revicea which operate on .hi.jii frequency, and with a spark gap. Companies maintaining electrical machines, elevators, etc., which set up disturbances, will be required to shield I bom. City authorities will be given power to arrest and fine persons who maintain devices interfering with radio reception. Aren't you glad there is niu- sic in the world?
