Physlco-Therapeutlc Academy.
Prof. Manluloff la confident of
proving the existence of one har
monious division of the male and
female gender In the entire crea
tion of the world, from human be
ings down to minerals. In the
course of an address before the
Academy of Scientists, Prof. Manl
uloff said:
"In my experiments to prove the
existence of aex In minerals my
attention waa arrested by the fact
that the aame mineral, perfectly
identical In Its chemical nature, is

octahedron form. To discern the
exact aex I have auhjected to a cer
tain reaction the blood of human
beings and animals, aa well aa ex

bic form produced a discoloration

Rivers as Thousands of

From Lowlands.
PARIS, Dec. 31. The floods In
central Europe continue to spread
notably In eastern Hungary. There
the river Thelss is 23 feet above
normal level at Tokay, famoua for
ita wines. The devastation by the
waters is being added .to by ice
jams forming at bridges. These
great masses of lcc-are being de
molished by artillery shell fire, but
with some damage to the bridgea;
thousands upon thousands of per
sons driven from their homes are
flocking to citlea which are above
flood level.
While the situation In France
thus far Is merely threatening, the
rivers, notwithstanding official op
timism, continue to rise at a fast
rate In the east, west and north.
It Is now admitted that the peak
of the flood will not be reached be
fore Sunday.
The flood altuation has been com
plicated by a recurrence of laat
week's hurrlcance, which haa put
the half restored telegraph sys
tem out of commission again.
The Eiffel Tower wireless aerial
again was carried away by the
wind and in consequence of this
the actual state of affairs in the
provinces Is not fully known.

dispatch from Oedenburg, Id Bur
genland. West Hungary saya the
dam at Klelnraab. on the Raab liv
er, burst last night, menacing 30
villages.
An unconfirmed report states
that 38 miners were drowned when
the salt mines at Maros-UJvary
were flooded.
The dispatch adds that the flood
damage In Hungary Is so great that
the finance minister has suspended
taxes In the afflicted districts.

LONDON, Dec. 31. Great Bri
tain was struck by another wester
ly gale last nlrht bringing heavy
rainstorms, which further raised
the waters of the already swollen
rivers. In London two men were
killed and eight Injured when a
chimney crashed Into the dormitory
of a Stepney workshop. More than
loo telegraph and telephone line
were down In the country. A mall
train crashed Into fallen treea at
Berwyn. Wales, but only the loco
motive waa damaged.
