Agreement was practirially
reached today on the conditions
of Germany's entrance into the
League of Nations and the dele

now hopefully predict the success
of the conference.
The allies have perfected a so
lution of the German leagHe mem
bership situation which Chancel

Stresemann hope wlll satisfy Ger
man public opinion and at the
tame time safeguard the friendly
relationship of the Riff with
Russia.
One big Issue remains unsettl

land and this was discussed pri
vately and with progress today by
M. Hriand, Dr. 8treaemann and
Count Skrsynsky, the French. Ger
man and Polish foreign ministers,
prior to the plenary session of the
conference.
A communique Issued after
today's session, said:
"Clarifications and precisions
requested by the German delega
tion In the conference upon the
question of the league brought
about a general exchange of views
and explanations. This exchange
resulted In progress of the work
of the conference toward the
adoption of a satisfactory solu
tion." Today's session was the most
exciting since the inauguration of
the conference for Chancellor Lu
ther and Foreign Minister Strese
mann,, insisted on more than the
allies 'were willing to accord cn
the league Issue. sThey werotold
flatly by all that it was a case
of accepting what was prepared,
or adjournment of the conferenge.
The German leaders held a
whispered consultation and then
announced their adhession to the
allies' ideas.
