The trio climbed Into the car and started from Independence at 9:15 p. m., according to people who heard the negotiations being made. About 10 o'clock liaun's body, witb three or four bullets through It, and the head crushed as though with some blunt Instrument, was found by the roadside about 10 miles south of Independence. The alleged slayers took Baun's Ford car bearing Oregon license No. 31,040, and are believed by the authorities to have headed south. According to descriptions fur- ; nlshed Sheriff Hooker of Polk county, all three of the suspects were well dressed, and their lug gage consist d of several bags and a blanket roll. The man who en gaged liaun to make the trip was described as being between 25 and i 30 years of age, about 6 feet 6 ln jches tall, stout, dark complexloned, .with black bairk and eyes, smooth shaven. PORTLAND WOMAN HURT C IN AUTO WRECK NEAR MYRTLE CREEK TUESDAY Mrs. Howard Robinson, wife of a deputy sheriff of Portland, was se verely Injured yesterday evening In an auto accident a. short distance south of Myrtle Creek. The car In which Mrs. Robinson was riding with a party of friends from Port land, turned turtle, and In some manner the woman's back was in jured so that she was paralyzed. She was taken to Myrtle Creek. Mrs. Wlllett of Silverton, receivt d minor Injuries, being knocked un conscious in the crash.
