Is quite ill at his home in Laurelwood. He is under the care of a physician and it will probably be some time before he will be able to resume his duties with the local post office. Returns to Roseburg Koy Wells, local musician, has returned from La Grande where he has been spending the past two weekB. Mr. Wells had Intended to locate In La Grande but was not satisifed with conditions there and decided to return, to Koseburg. Are Visiting Wilson Home- Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bosbyshell and daughter, and Mrs. Helen Bosby shell, of Los Angeles, have arrived, arid will be guests for several days at the home of Mr. Bosbyshell's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Wilson, of Myrtle Creek. , Chiefs Meet Tonight The Umpqua Chiefs will hold a very important meeting tonight and Chief Umpqua Ness has Issued a call for all members to be on hand at Lawrence's office at 7:30 o'clock sharp. Plans for attendance at the state fair will be discussed. Return From Vacation- Mr. and Mrs. James Arthur and children returned yesterday from a camping trip. They spent two weeks on the outing, visiting Cra ter and Diamond Lakes and many other points of interest. McMahon of the state motor vehicle department, spent the day In Roseburg on an inspection trip. When the traffic force was reorganized Mr. McMar hon was promoted to the rank of sergeant, and is now in charge of the work in the southern Oregon and coast district. To Portland - O. May HylM Pavilion . A Portland man was In the city today looking for a location fur a big dance pavilion which he plans to construct here in tthe near future. According to a statement by him he will bring his own orchestra of five pieces to play during the winter. In selecting this city, he said he be lieved that opportunities here were as good as any place in southern Oregon for such a structure. Here KtMr Short Time . Mrs. N. E. Sider, of Ponca City. Ca sey, who is constructing the new building, had a narrow escape from a serious Injury early In the week, when a ladder on which he was standing, fell. He was thrown to the floor violently, but suf fered enly a few bruises. W. llowman. Recovering From Operation Mrs. Charles Shoemaker, who has been at Mercy hospital follow ing a major operation. Is reported to be recovering nicely. Her many friends here will be pleased to learn of, her complete recovery. To Medford Dr. George E. Mrs. Campbell Improving Mrs. Frances Campbell, Medford woman, who was recently Injured In an auto wreck on Hairpin curve at the tup of Camas mountain. Is reported to be slightly Improved.
