Mickey Shannon, Chicago liiiht heavyweight, died in the arena be fore hundreds of boxing fans here last night at the end of the fourth round of his bout with Harry Fay of Louisville. When Fay drove him to the ropes and so weakened him with hfad and body blows he collapsed and fell 'through the ropes, breaking his neck when his head hit the floor. Fay was arrested on a technical charge of manslaughter, but was released on $1,000 bonds. The Louisville boxer was depressed over the accident, but refused to comment except to express bis re gret over the outcome.
