The dlstase which caused thp
death or the young girl is one of
very rare oi currenee and is seldom
encountered. II Is known as Ileum
phllla. or bleed, r's disease, and
usually proves fatal. It la caused
by derkii-m-y In an interior gland,
the blood being affected so that it
does not clot, and the sufferer Is
sulijict to freuuent and uncontr.l
ahle hemorrhages. It Is an here
ditary disease and usually skips
one generation. In this particular
ram the disease Is traced hark to
a grandfather who was likewise ar
tlieted, although in a lesser degree.
Although the bleeding Is usually
from the nose, mouth or ears, It Is,
In advanced eases, often so severe
that the finder tips, lobes of ears,
toes and backs of hands and nrmsi
frqnenily commence to U:eed with
no apparent. cause, and wrthout an
abrasion of the skin. The disease
usually proves ratal In the early
stages of puhci'ly. It Is of more
frequent occurrence among malt s
than among females.
