It seems to me that it Is due to the students and teachers of the KoHeburg High School that a ft'W words of commendation be spoken In appreciation of tho en tertainments given by them in the past. I have attended' many of the plays anil operettas staged ill tile last few years and have thor oughly enjoyed them. I have Louis C. Davis Painting and Paper Hanging Phone 569-R 427 East Douglas St. STRAWBERRIES We want to correspond with growers, write us what varieties you have, when they will be ready and acreage you have. PAGE & SON Portland Oregon been especially impressed with the thoroughness of preparation and thf spirit that the students put Inft) the work. Many people do not realize the enormous amount of tedious drilling and re hearsing .necessary to fret such gratifying results. Then I have often marveled at the talent dis played by many of the actors. If more people would patron ize these home talent plays in stead of paying large admission to see tome of the quest ionable road shows, they would get better entertainment for their money and the' money would go for wor thy local causes. ItGweer, one criticism must he made which dops not reflect on the student body. I do not know who was responsible for allowing the use of profanity in the Sen ior Class Play, Dulcy, but the per sons responsible are worthy of rebukes from the taxpayers and parents of the community. It was not only vulgar In the extreme, but also the breaking of the Third Commandment. I have hcaril many criticisms of this feature of the play. Our young people have enough temptations in that liiff without being fauyht Mich language In our public schools. Of the fil.000 cases in the shipment, the American authori ties are declared to have seized more than 32,0(t0. About 6.000 were sold and tire proceeds spent n vessels, coal and other things. Thirty-two thousand cases remain available for sale, the circular says, but it is problematical whe ther they can be disposed of, the risk of seizures being great. "It Is obvious." Sir Itrod-erfck continues, "that a big loss of capital is inevitable and every contributor ha the ripht to sue me for nonfulfillment of my gua rantee, but I hare lost every thing, and any such action would only result in hampering my en deavors to save something from tho wreck.
