Tobln, who for the last two
months has been an attendant at
the glare hospital for the Insane,
was arrested today in the office of
Ir. It. K. Lee Steiner, superintend
ent of the institution, and is in the
county jail charged with aiding
and abetting an inmate to escape.
The charges n-cites that last

(Courier, an inmate out of a ward
at the hospital and later In the

er, Alex Courier, an old man who
Is blind, Orel Courier was to get
$100 and -another automobile, ac
cording to the Inmate's story.

en to Tobln. The elder Courter re
fused to let his son have the automobile.
Hospital authorities suspected
that Courier had gone to Falls
City and T. V. Campbell, a super

ber 15 pulled into Hoseburg it car
ried a Scandinavian who hail lost

cense of direction. Hoarding the
train at Rainier, Washington, with
San Francisco as his destination,
he had made Portland, the first
lap of his journey. There he pur
chased a ticket direct to San
Francisco. Nearing Hoseburg, the
end of the conductor's division, the
