tentative plans for the new high
school building as altered and mod
ified. The new plans call for a
larger gymnasium than originally
provided, also for some shifting in
departmental rooms, and other
minor changes. The plans have
now been bud roved and. the archi
tects will proceed with the detailed'
plans and specifications. The
board adopted a resolution author
ising tte sale of the school bonds,
which are to be issued in the Bum
of $1G5,(K0, and also 1 adopted a
resolution confirming the purchase
of the property.
Miss Km ma Ueland, npw In
charge of the domestic arts depart
ment In the schools of Juneau.
Alaska, was employed to take
charge of this department in the
Roseburg schools next year, tak
ing the place of Miss Janet Ward
who will not teach next term. Miss
Ueland was a member of the facul
ty a few years ago and her work is
exceptionally good and the board
feels delighted that she Is (9 re
turn. Her parents reside here, and
consequently she desires to teach
