The Chamber has spent a lot of time, effort and money to make this booklet not only attractive but conclusive, and of interest to those who are looking towards the Pacific Northwest as their tuture home. The various towns In the county have thus far contracted for over 7000 of these books, thereby, showing that all the com munities are satisfied that they are getting a square deal from the Koseliurg Chamber of Commerce. Several of the more progressive real estate firms have also bought large quantities of the booklets to answer their individual inquiries apart-from those received by the local Chamber of Commerce. It now looks as it at least 15,000 of these booklets will be printed and it Is estimated that this num ber will last only one year, and that next year another edition will be necessary. This is due to the fact that a very large num. ber of eastern people are looking towards the Pacific coast country at this time, and a great many inquiries are being received each week.- NEVADA JUDGE CALLS FOR MODIFICATION OF 18TH AMENDMENT RENO. I With such a modification of the eighteenth amendment, in his opin ion, congress would feel free to I enact moderate liquor legislation I that would command the respect land support of the country at large. Such legislation, he consid ers, should not permit the return i of the saloon, hut probably should aiiow me sale or liquor under some such system as that prevailing in several provinces ot Canada. Explaining his position, Jddge Norcross says: "I voted for the Nevada prohibition act and sup ported the eighteenth amendment IJut I am convinced that they have failed. As a consequence we are living undesr a national law and state statutes that are being open ly flouted by millions of people. 1 "Congress can never have a free hand to deal with the situation un til we return to the correct princi pal of making the constitution the repository of congressional power and not Itself a penal code.
