enough money that i could get

been out of touch with young

to think about is a cood time, and
laughing about something. Isn't
there any place where I could find

he? I have no patience with any
body who uses the word flapper to
condemn the young girla of today.
Don't start out by looking for an
ideal, if you found her, or thought
you did, you would only be dis
illusioned later when you discov
ered she was human too. I know
many, many girls today that yoj
might call a flapper, but I would
call fine, tweet old fashioned girls
that any man should be proud to
call his wife. What if they Do roll
their nose, like to go to parties, or
dances, and have a good time? All
young people - are entitled 4o a
good time, and I expect you like a
dance now and then yourself. If
you will take the trouble to know
them and go below the surface you
will find the same fine qualities
that have made good wives and
mothers since the world began.
You should be thankful for the
"laughing" as you call it. It is a
gift that most of us -sigh for, it
will keep you young, and meet the
trials of life with the same gay
song. Try again, but change your
attitude this time.

H. B. Parrent, of Powers, Ore
gon, was iu Koaeburg yesterday
searching for his son Herbert Par
rent, aged 11. who ran away from
his home at Powers Wednesday-
He left Powers with another boy
Don Downing, aged 12. who lived
mar the Parrent home. It was at
first thought that the boys were
drowned, and citizens of Powers
searched the river near there
where the boys were accustomed
to swim, but later heard that they
had been seen near I'amas Valley
and had been given a ride in that
direction by a passing motorist. It
is believed that they may be near
I'amas Valley or Dillard, as the
Parrent family formerly lived at
Camas Valley, and the boys had
talked of Dillard, and the water
melon patches there. They may
also have gone on to Albany.
Herbert Pat rent is the larger of
the two boys, and is wearing a
blue serge cap. light shirt, and ov
eralls. The Downing boy is attired
In overalls, shirt, and a tan hat.
Uc-th boys are barefotted. Anyone
seeing or hearing of these bays
are requested to notify Sheriff
Starmer at Uoseburg, or H. U.
