The Douglas County Com nnd Potato Show, arranged by County Agent B. W. Cooney, will open to morrow and several Interesting ses sions nre expected dining the three days the show will be in progress. The meetings ara not being planned for the purpose of making a great display or for any unusual entertain ment. They are being held rather to show that Douglas County can pro duce corn and potatoes equal to any part of the country and to Interest farmers In giving more attention to those two staple products. A large number of exhibits have been received from various parts of the county and these will be placed on display at the salesroom of the Lockwood Motor Company which Irt cooperating in this enterprise. Judging of the exhibits will take plaae tomorrow and prizes will be awarded. Some very valuable prizes are to be given for the various classes introduced. The exhibits will be open to the public during the day and everyone interested Is Invited -to look at the display, which will show the crops which can be produced in the county. On each evening special lectures will be given which will be the main points of interest of the show. Thurs day night Cottntv Agent Cooney will take up the production of corn, deal ing with the various details surround ing the production of the corn crop, particularly corn judging and seed se lection. On Friday nipht Prof. W. S. Cnr pentar will speak on polnto diseases nnd production. His talk will be il lustrated bv lantern slides from the Oregon Agricultural College nnd spe call charts which will be of -great in terest to all persons actively engaged in the growing of potatoes. On Saturday night F. E.
