Quickly a committee of prominent citizens was formed and went en masse to the office of the real mayor. In sterling tonea, ringing with fer vency and loyalty, the chairman of the committee assured the mayor that the citizens would not stand for this newcomer, Splggot, "Whoever he might be." and that thny were with him to the lust ditch. Smith. She has been a loyal church member and active Woman's Mis sionary Boclety and Sunday school worker. Up to the time of her Illness she was an efficient Sunday school teacher and one of the most reten tive worshippers In the regular ser vices. Several weeks before her death, which took place In Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Jnnuary 16, 1923. when I visited her at her home she said: "I am not afraid to die. I am ready." The week before her death she sent this message to her pas tor: "I am ready to go. Tell all my friends" I hope to meet them In Hea ven some time." Besides a loving husband, four brothers and one' sister mourn the loss of a loving wife and sister. The sympathy of the Evangelical church In Dldshury Is extended to all who mourn their loss. Now she sleeps where the dalMcs nod And the clover hangs Its head. Where wild birds come and wild bees hum Above her lonely bed. , She fnucht the fight, she kept the faith.
