HEIXLINE The Red Cross drive for Hoseburg starts Saturday tho ICtli. The) County Is thoroughly organized and people are working In their dis tricts making their return, but the amounts received show a marked change from the preceding year. It Is necessary that Roseburg raise Its full quota If the poor of this city and county Is to be given any at tention. Neither lodges, churches or County Court can do the work of the Red Cross, and It Is better to renow your annual membership that to be continually Importuned for each case as It presents Itself. A group of boy scout members have agreed to canvas Roseburg Saturday, and these boys will have an official arm band and receipt cardB, and we ask that you give them your dollar and accept your card of membership in this World wide organization. The Astoria disaster, which came very near home, received immedi ate assistance from the Red Cross Chapters thruout the State and Na tional Headquarters. This assist ance would not be possible If you had not Joined the Red Cross last year. Remember the scout obligation, "One good turn a day' and do your good turn toward the other fellow and meet these boys with a dollar and a smile, and close the .Red Cross Canvas up In one afternoon o GIFTS THAT LAST Bracelet watches.
