While , they liwUi $i.oo The ex-service men of Douglas country nre to enjoy a rare treat at the hands of the American Legion boys, according to the plans of the committee in charee of the Armistice Day celebration. It Is the purpose or Hi in committee to recall to tho minds 4 of all ex-service men all of the pleas- . ..viuipianpnl In nervine! m , uiu iiiuiK .-j.,..........- ... . . also to remind each man of the com 5'edv unseen in the things that were not pleasant ' Perhaps the most welcome "call anv uniformed man has ever heard was "m-ss call." That was the time when military stiffness was forgot ten, when rank meant nothing, when for the short period of one hour one could relax and forget the grind of war hardships. Every ex-service man in Douglas county who cares to par take of the treat Is cordially invited bv the American Legion boys to visit liopeburg cm November lltty next, where a monster "mess Hne" will be formed and real food served "army style." You all know what that means. Looking back over the Ar mistice Dav celebration last year, and realizing that the local Legion boys alwavs make good when they prom ise a treat: there Is no doubt that this ble free dinner to all ex-service men whp. will come and partake of It will measure up to the promises of tho committee arranrins It. They sav It will be the "greatest get-together meeting ever held since the Armis tice." I Surelv nothing could be mere Wel lcome to the mn who wore th iinl i form thnn to sit down to n real ban nuet. where all decorum Is forgotten nnd reminiscent windows nri opened fe-- nn hour. No effort Is beine- snar i ed to mn'te this what 'he committee i call It. the grandest free dinner the i service men of this county ever en I loved. P. railroad company, today met with Mayor Hamilton and Judge Qulne for tho purpose of conferring regarding a bridge site across the South I'mpqua to I'mpqua Park Addition. After going over the ground carefully, It was decided that an under- grade crossing at the trestle is the most logical point and this was found acceptable to all parties. The site 1s the one ad- vocated by Stanley Taylor and leads directly across the river from ,'llie trestle, a short dis- tanco upstream from the old bridge sir. Farrens stated that he will reccomend that the rail- road company bear a proper- Donate share of the cost of build- Ing the undergrade crossing which will have a concrete base nnd culvert to tnke care of the waters ef Tarrolt Creek.
