(International News Service.) POI'LAfl BUIFK, Mo Sept. 5. After a world-wide search for will- lam Sample, heir to a fortune esti mated at $2,r.00,l00, lasting for four mouths, the new millionaire was found on a steamship In the harbor of Hangkok, Slam, ready to sail la America for a visit to his home in southeast Missouri. Ueorge find, of Cape Girardeau, has been conducting the search in or der that ho might turn over the vant foitunn to Its owner. The fortune wns left to Samplo by relatives who recently died. As the news of the search for Sam- pit found Its way to every nook and corner of the globe, hundreds of "William Buiuples" applied to IMiid for the money. When they would ar rive at Cape tilrardeau and find Plnd, the latter would make them turn round, and he would look at the back of their necks before making any statement. Plnd stnted, aflor the rightful own er of the fortune was located, that tho rightful heir had a scar on the back of his neck and that this mark would be the deciding factor In as certaining the one William Sample for whom he was searching. When he was found. Sample said he had been In Slam for a number of years and did not know of tho search being conducted for him. Ho appear ed to be greatly, pleased with the news of his newly-ncqulred millions and could hardly wait until his boat left for America. Ho was found by an amateur detective who had been assigned to assist In locating Sample. The detective, according to 1'lnd, was paid ."iO0O for his successful search. A greater part of the legacy ac quired by Sample Is In a diamond mine in South Africa, it Is claimed.
