Manager Vic Petterson and Captain Rudy Kitz man are not over-confldent but they feel that their team will annex the scalps of the southern slab artists when tomorrow's contest Is staged. Grants Pass recently defeated Med ford and Bince that victory they have been traveling the rosy path but the Roseburg aggregation will toss a few thorns beneath their spikes, according to the opinion expressed by fans who have watched both organizations, at work. Tomorrow's game will be called promptly at 2:30 o'clock. Admission to the Laurelwood baseball park will be 35 cents for adults ant all children under the age of 14 years will be ad mitted free of charge. Famous Pitcher Coming. - ' The famous ex-Detroit' and coast league pitcher, Pernoll, will occupy the mound for the Grants Pass troupe. A record breaking crowd is expect ed for the game and the grand stand will undoubtedly be packed. Big shade trees will protect the remainder of the spectators from the rays of Old Sol, who has promised to be "on deck" In time for the start of the first Inning. Will Join League. Captain Rudy Rltznlan returned this morning from Eugene where he at tended a meeting of all the managers and captains of the upper Willamette valley baseball teams with a view of organizing a league. Ritzman report ed today that the meeting was a most enthusiastic one and that many at tended and expressed their willing ness to Join the league. Roseburg will probably sign up in the league, thus assuring the local fans of a game on tho home lot every other Sunday. The opening day will be Sunday, May 21st, when the fast Goshen team will meet the Roseburg team on the Laurelwood grounds. Goshen Is con sidered the strongest contender r the championship of the league and the local boys declare they will put up a strenuous fight for the pennunt. President Elected. At the meeting last night, Mr. Georgo Wllhelm, a Harrlsburg bank er, was elected president of the league. The board of directors con sists of the managers of each team. Each team must post a $50 bond to assure the playing out of the sched ule, which will be announced shortly. Not Import Players. The Importation of professional ball players will be barred, and sev eral clauses In the by-laws deal with that phase. The admission price to all the league games will be 35 cents and children under 12 years of age admitted free. "This will give Roseburg some real baseball." said Manager Petterson to-1 day. "We will place a team In the: field that will be a strong contender , for the championship. It also assures ; the tans of some real games In this city."
