Her gift should surely be a pair of Stephens' Shoes, the perfect gilt. n They fit good, they look good, they feel good because they are good Stephens' Shoes. o " EQl'IITJEXT IS INSTALLED The Sisters of Mercy have lust re ceived a battery of sterilizers such as are used In the very best of hos pitals for the sterilization of the dressings. Instruments, water, etc. for the operating room. The steriliz ers are operated electrically and are the last word in modern equipment. They represent an expense of about 12.000. A complete electric laundry has also been Installed at the hospital. The service at the hospital at the present time Is perfect, and people are coming to Roseburg from all parts of the state. The place is now overcrowded, practically every room being taken, while doctors report that they have patients who should enter but are unable to do so. For the good of the city, more rooms should be obtainable and an annex is badly needed. A meeting of railroad employees and merchants of the city was held at the Moose ball Wednesday even ing, about 25 men being present. There has been a misunderstanding between some of the railroad men and the merchants concerning a let ter alleged to have been written by a merchant asking Information re garding the wages of employees. This misunderstanding was completely cleared away and the difficulty was eliminated. A very good meeting re sulted and a better feeling between the railroad men and the merchants ,will doubtless exist tn the future as one outcome of the conference. RESULTS? our want ads get them.
