attraction at the Majestic.

H. Merten and Albort Micelll ar
rived In Roseburg yesterday from
spending the past several days at
tendine to business matters. They
drove two Essex roadsters to this
city on the return trip. The cars
are 1920 models and have been
disposed df to Fank Dolan and N,
G. Van Buren, train dispatchers at
the local office.

Billy" Vinson was a business
visitor in Roseburg today. He only
recently roturned from a trip to
Coos ltay and during hia stay in
that section received a two-coluui
write-up In a Marshfield paper con
cerning his former days as mall
carrier over the old Coos Bay road,
Mr. Vinson Is quite well known In
that section of the country, and
states that he had a fine time vis
iting with friends.

"Seben come loben" experts of
Roseburg. who have been tossing
the "galloping domlnos" quite pro-
miscously of late, are due for
heavy fall according to the local
officers who claim to have all the
necessary data concerning the
"meeting places" of the embryo
gamblers. The officers state that
Saturday night Is usually the busi
est one of the week and an extra
force will bo "on the Job" tonight
in order that every game may be
watched and the players nabbed.

Thomas Dram, wife and son. who
have been visiting in this city with
Mrs. Deam's brother, Jim Schaffer,
left this morning for Portland where
they will visit for a short time. They
were accompanied to Portland by
Mr. Schaffer's daughter, BeBsle Poin
dcxter, who has been visiting here
for the past two weeks. Mr. and Mrs.
Deam will return to Roseburg In a
few days and will visit here again
before accompanying their son to his
home in San Francisco.

Paul L. Kills and wife arrived In
Roseburg last night and expect to
make their home here. They are
visiting with Mrs. Ellis' parents, Mr.
and Mrs. O. M. Barton, of C.arden
valley, at the present time. Mr. Ellis
was a member of the 10th engineers
and while overseas talked with sev
eral hundred men from all parts of
the country regarding the best place
In which to locate. From the opinion
eained In this manner he decided to
locate In Douglas county and is now
here with the intention of purchas
ing a farm. He was in the same
company wlih W. F. Ramsdell, now
supervisor of the I'mpqua forest.
