teachers here for several terms. She

schools.

Mr. W. A. Roberts received the
sad news by wire a few days ago,
of the death of the Infant child of
her daughter, Mrs. Ida Jones of
Nelson, Cal.
Work Is progressing very well on
our new road grade on the hill be
tween Hayhurst and town. We are
all very anxious to have It done and
gravel on before winter, but owing
to the fact that the men had to
lay off to harvest crops, we fear
no gravel can he put on this tall.
Mr. B. H. Miller returned from
a six weeks absence at Monmouth,
where she was attending Summer
school.
Mrs. Robert Francis, who also at
tended Summer school, has been
employed to teach the Fall and
Spring terms of school hero.
Mrs. Combs of Drain was visiting
Mrs. Lee Allen last wook. Mr.
Combs end his sons are operating
a saw mill near here. X.X.
