The American Friends Service Commit tee, Philadelphia, has arranged to make shipments of food for the child feeding work in Germany in suffi cient quantities to last until the end of the year. Recently there have been shipped from New York 240 tons of coca, 317V4 tons of lurd, and 14.320 cases of condensed milk. In addition to this, there were shipped 31 barrels of cod liver oil for hospital use in combating rickets, the disease of children so common there because of under-nutrilion. Dried peas and dried beans used tn the food ration are already stored in ware houses in Hamburg to be drawn as needed; 880 tons of rice have been purchased and will be delivered at Hamburg Boon. The remaining ar ticles of the ration, flour and sugar, will be supplied in the future by the German government. The vnlue of these goods Is about $1,500,000 and it is expected It will be sufficient to provide a supplement ary meal for about 600,000 children per day until January.
