Says County la In Need f the Pl-o- posed Institution. m ra your paper of the 20th Inst. I nnd an Item written by a person who Is supposed to live In Wilbur, but 1 have been unable to find this person who caused to have printed an ob jection to the new hospital at Win chester. I regret very much Indeed that this article has not been an swered before, so I take the pleasure of asking why some people always try to down a good, helpful, legiti mate cause. What Is wanted In this county and at Winchester Is a good, clean-cut hospital and sanitarium, where peo ple outside of Koseburg can go, and where competition can be had. If all enterprises helpful to humanity, labor, etc.. Is to be turned down by a few Individual men that want It all and try to control the county, I say let them keep out of Winchester and let the rest of the county support this new 'institution''"' - -' ,, Do you. or any one feel that these promoters are spending the money, education and their life to come here and spread such , contageous and dangerous diseases. No, and you all know It. If I was to meet with a serious accident any time and was bleeding, would, I go to a sanl 'arlum? No, to a good hospital and this Is one good, big feature, tht Winchester hospital. I think people well know some o the conditions which nave arlser. during the past year and to have f general hospital would surely bf wnat Douglas County people have fo vears been crying for and Its hlgl .time to help these men of integrity and ability to have their . dreams realized. As to the Bitting, spitting and loaf 'ng around of consumptives In store and places this Is to be taken car of: also the sewerage, etc. Wha' would our fathers, mothors. brother' and sisters do . If everyone woulr' hut the door In their face? Woult rou want your own wife or chll- urned away from the helping handr tf others? Is this what you refe o, 1 I mv let us hsve the best med 'cal aid and help we can get and w 'honld pnreart out nnr arms to met vho enme here for theneoplo and no' o accommodate . a nVw who air ealthv nnd want to rule our coun 'ry. I have lived in Douglas count- most of the time for. 30 years ani have never heard of one who has oh tooted to the institution vet. Otr Wllhur citizens are all glad to have it because we all believe In better "i"nt In this line and will feel as--ured of good, reasonable trea'.men' t a fair and squnro price. . Above nl' he pcorile of this county should b' ill menus help to build up, Instea'1 of knocking. ' I may odd that T understand the state board of health will decide In 'nir favor, I am sure. . W. R. The former German Empress, Augasta Victoria, has undergone so much distress during the past two years that she has suffered for several months from aggrevated attacks of heart disease. Recently she has been leading the life of an Invalid She has had milder attacks of this malady for many years. At the House of Doom, where surrounded by a staff of her own Berlin servants, and attended almost constantly by Countess Kellar for many years her lady in waiting she has recently been so completely Indisposed that she has at times been unable to walk and has not for a long time been permitted to walk tip or down the stairs. A special elevator was built for her use. Those familiar with the inner life of the former Emperor's household since. the flight from Potsdam to Holland declare that while William, consoling himself with religion, has been more or less of a stoic, the former Empress has suffered great mental distress and has felt severely he separation from her children. Prom the time she arrived at Amerrongen.' In November, 1918, she has suffered continually. Now and then, she was the victim or heart attacks so severe that she was confined to her bod for several days .at a time. In the spring of 1920. when th Kann revolution In Berlin was fol lowed by an urgent demand that the former Emperor be closely guarded, Ihe life of the exiles became more constrained and made Augusta's ail ment more pronounced. Sales of this tire have increased 96 the first six months of this year, prov ing the balanced tire, the Firestone 3lA has accomplished what Firestone sought for it, more mileage, greater economy, greater comfort, which has been passed on to the public at low cost most miles per dollar. Balanced! That means to you more than mere thickness of tread, great er air capacity, more plies of fabric, greater cushioning, or the gauge of the sidewall. It means that all component parts of the Firestone 3& are scientifically balanced by special ists who have put years of study and practice into a single purpose to meet your demand in a small car tire. You can now have all four tires on your car give uniform service if they are Firestone.
