Warren O. Harding, the republi

a typical American career. A farmer
boy working his way through school
and college, a successful journalist
and eventually a senator from the
state of Ohio, has carried through
his rthanites of fortune an unblemlsh-

Honatcr Harding's nomination was .
not a complete surprise. He was
not a "daik horse." He was an

quietly, with little ostentation and,

He hns no apparent vulernalile point.
As a successful newspaper editor, he
hns a sense of political proportion
that will stand 111 in In steed In the
campaign to come.
