Conn. r. L. Dyer, of Heedsport, re
c ived the sad news last week of the
d atli of his son Claude, who was
killed, together Willi the driver of ail
automobile, at llanford, Cal., in the
tac.s on Memorial day. In a letter

concerning the accident, she elates

hours after the accident. It appears

race course that the driver, Ilrake,
rould not soo to make the turn and
ran the ear lino a fence, which threw
the driver into the fence, causing in
siant death. Claud was thrown out
and dragged, his l.-g broken, and he
v.as bruised about the chest in such
a manner that he lived only a few
hours. The body was interred at Kl
Monie. before Mr. Dyer had received

fectant. It should read: 'a solution
of one part bichloride of mercury,
ind one part cyanide of mercury to

chloride of mercury, and one grain
of cyanide of mercury to ono pint
of water."
This solution should be applied
to the instrument, or to the wound
with a sponge.
