Four I'luns Offered. In the first summary of the bill to be received In Portland. Con siderable difference of opinion exists, however, as to the proper means of financing this legislation, and it ap pears doubtful If immediate action con lw secured. The story ot the play has to do with the bumble people ot the mountains who are In the state ot much bitter feeling and with mauy unsolvable mysteries that have kept theHe peo ple In constant fear for many years. There comes to these mountains one day a stranger, who Is more or less a cultured person, and accepts a humble position at small pay. In order that he may escape from the vanities and conventionalities of the big cities, dt which he has been accustomed. Among these rough mountaineers he finds much content lives their lives and it Is not long before he becomes friendly and' also he adviser of many of these moun taineers. The mysteries of the mountains have terrified the people of the mountains for years, and he soon becomes master of the situation and settles these mysteries in the minds of all the people. The story has Interwoven a slendld love story that adds much heart -interest to the play and then there Is much hu mor, pathos, and tragedy to keep up the interest lirom beginning to end, hut the conclusion of the story Is satisfactory to all the spectators.
