the territory west of the river Lys
and from W'arnelon southward,

British patrol reported that they
did not encounter a single enemy.
The enemy evidently failed to realize
the important positions tney occu
pied and retreated.
Piehtine continues on the north
ern part of the front. Late Tuesday
the Canadians took the remainder of
the trenches below Reservoir Hill

The days are torridly hot, and are

structing traila on Honey Creek. He

Meager reports of the accident
received here indicate that the youuv;
man was struck by a falling tree
and sustained a severe Injury to ilir
shoulder, as well as bruises and cuts
on the face and body. The serious
ness of the Injuries will nut be
known, however, until an examina
tion can be made by the physician.
It will be late tonight before the pa
tient will arrive at Glide, according
to the local forestry officials.

noon on a charge of having venison
in his tHtssession contrary to law.
I appeared before Justice of the Pence

' a plea ot guilty. He wax sentenced

! the defendant. Mr. Thomas was al
lowed to pay one-third of the tine

the officers' reserve training camp,

Studying of military law began
there today, and Mr. Neuner Is one
