Celebrated Vnnderbilt Story.
A good many stories about George
Westlnghouse have been printed. One
of the most popular stories is one of
the most Interesting, hut It Is not true
the "celebrated Interview with Vnn
derbllt, the railroad king." Accord
I rig to this amusing anecdote. Westing
house called upon Vanderbllt and ex
plained how trains could be stopped
with air, but the railroad king dismiss
ed blin with the remark:
"Go away, young man! t haven't
time to talk with fools!"
The story has gone around the world
many times. Mr. Westlnghouse often
said that It hadn't the merit of possess
ing n grafu of truth. Iils denials never
caught tip with the yarn.

Grants Pass last Tuesday morning.
The funeral service was held at Cot
