Mrs. Minnie Weimer, wire of Los
sen Wetmer, and niece of Mr. and
Mrs. Dwlght Reed, of this city died
of typhoid fever on Wednesday last
at Ashland.
On Wednesday evening the bridge
spanning Pass Creek on A street and
leading to East Drain, was struck by
a heavy south wind and completely
demol!8hed. It was a structure about
40 feet in length and covered by a
heavy roofing, and has not been con
sidered altogether sate for gome
time.

RESIDENTS KILL ALL DOGS.
BAKER CITY. Or., Jan. 20. A
band of coyotes, suffering from the
rabies, charged into ttie village of
Durkee, near here, today. Several
people and many doga were bitten.
Fearing the dogs would go mad, the
villagers armed themselves and
waged war on the coyotes and dogs
until a lute hour of the night, anni
hilating the entire canine population
of the village.
