Myrtle Creek continues to occupy
the center of the stage in the drama
of court eventB. The latest happen
ing is a severe case of insanity, which
was disposed of by the county court
In this city Thursday. The patient
Is George T. Holland, aged 19 years
and standing 6 feet, 3 Inches high.
He attempted to kill his mothor, Mrs.
Charles Holland, at Myrtle Creek, a
few days ago, and on another occa
sion attempted suicide. In the opin
ion of the examining physician, Dr.
E. V. Hoover, the young man's un
fortunate condition is probably due to
an Injury to his head, sustained In a
railroad wreck in 1907, while em
ployed as a brakeman. Holland's
delusion is that he has discovered the
fountain of youth. He become vio
lent when opposed on this subject,
but at all other times his demeanor
is rational. The family has lived at
Myrtle Creek but a short time, com
ing there from Michigan. Holland
was taken to the state asylum today.
