is becoming too frequent and easy
In Roseburg. Rumor says -that Sat
urday night carousals are of almost
as unfailing regularity as during the
days when saloons were In regular
and lawful operation. Nor is it on
Saturduy nights nione that there Is
evidences of something stronger than
near beer" being drank. Along
this line the Inst issue of the Oily
.News says:
Two of Roseburg's promising
young men paraded our streets
yesterday Sunday filled to
the brim with tho beverage that,
by a majority of nearly 600 at
the last election, is "supposed"
to be a thing of the past in our
beautiful little city, unless pre
scribed by a regular physician
for his patients. Hut since tho
town "went dry" there seems to
be an unlimited number of these
"patients." In fact the "dry
ness" has had a very bad ef
fect on many and whether they
nre traveling under the "sick
ban" or getting the liquor
from the "blind pig" funnel is
a question for some one else to
answer. Tho News does not
know that a "blind lg" exists
