a letter reacbed here, addressed to
the chief of police, written In an Il
literate hand, the slgnaturo being il
legible. The letter told or the finding of
an unknown man with head battered
In and the body having been partial
ly devoured by hogs. From business
cards found on the person It is evi
dent that the remains are those of
Mr. Cagle.
Mr. Cagle, who was a steady, hard
working man, had saved his earnings
and had money on his person when
in California. It is presumed he was
foully dealt with.
