culated here, apparently with some
basis of authority. As a result, the
Socialists of the city are up In arms

bride. The future Mrs. Story was

at the Johnson home until next Mon
day, when they will depart for

tion from Japan has been checked
until It is now but one-third of what

vear ending June 30, 1908, Immigra
tion from Janan was 18.000, of
which 9,500 came to the mainland of
the United States.

ence Corthell, aged 8 years, was at
tacked by an angry bull at the Cor
thell farm home. Just south of Ash
land, Tuesday evening, at milking
time nnd Impaled upon the horns of
the fiifuriuted beast, which pene
trated the abdomen of the llttlo fel-
ow, nnd Indicted Injuries which are
serious, If not fiital. He was brought
to the hospital at Ashland for treat
ment.
