The meteorological summary for
the month nf August, 11)08, issued
today by Thos. Gibson, local ob
server of the U. S. Weather Bureau,
shows that nearly one-third of an
inch of rain fell during that perlol
and that the average rainfall per
year from Sept. 1. 1877, to date has
been nearly MS inches. On the 17th
of last mouth the temperature was
1(12, on the day following It was
100 and there were nine other days
in the month when thermometer
registered 90 or over.
