His administration may bo characterized by uselessly oxponsive terms of court, or it may bo that which in considerate of tho interests of tho people. Sharps and family have moved to Yoncalla to reside. Tho danco at Hancock's Saturday night was a complete success. We learn that Milton Culy, formerly of this place, Is now In Lake Head, Wash. M. F. McNeel has gone toScottsburg, seeking employment. George Smith, ihe hustling stock dealer of Redden Bluff, was looking after business matters in our town Sat urday. In a postal to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hoblnson, Miss Ida Robin son, of Elkton, who Is attending the Ashland Normal, states that she has returned from Capltola, Calif., where she was sent by the school as a delegate to the Y. W. C. A. There was a social given at che resi dence of Warren Cheever May 27th. There was a large attendance and$18.75 was realized with which to buy seats for the Hodden Hind's school house. They played games until midnight and danced until 4 a- m. There were In use violins, banjos, guitars and other in struments too numerous to mention. All present report having had a good time. Mr. Barnard has also acquired solo proprietorship of the livery and feed stables at the corner of Hose and Washington streets, formerly owned by the firm of Kelly, Hanks Sc Co., from which firm Mr. Itarnnrd has withdrawn. Mr. Rarnnrd has also be come sole possessor of tho Hoseburg- Marsh field stage line, Mr. Barnard will continue to make his business headquarters at the stables on Hose and Washington streets, giv ing his personal attention to his stage line.
