The farce, "Brown's In Town", which
is the attraction at the Opera House
Thursday, May 26, is said to bo one of
the brightest and cleanest comedies
ever seen on the stage. The plot of
the piece deals with the troubles of
Dick and Letty Preston, two young
people who have been secretly married
and are trying to conceal their marriage
from Dick's father. The old gentle
man has a decided aversion to marriage,
probably as Dick says, "because he
has been there himself"! and he has
vowed that if Dick docs marry before
reaching the age of twenty-fire he will
cut him off without a cent. Dick and
Letty have taken a cottage at Brighton
and are living sn Ideal life among
honeysuckle, hens and inquisitive neigh
bors, and of course the old gentleman
turns up. Dick is living under the
name of Brown at the cottage, and the
elder Preston takes a friend of Dick's
for Brown, and Letty for Mrs. Brown.
On his arrival, Dick has arranged with
Suzanne Dacru, a friend of Letty's, to
act as Mrs. Brown. This eventually
leads to the discovery by the old gentle
man that there are two Mrs. Browns,
and the contradictory explanations that
the young people give for the unusual
number of wives on the part of the
Imaginary Brown keep lYeston senior
in a whirl of excitement for three acts.

While chopping in the woods on
Thursday, Prank Dunning lost control

What it Costs.
Any man can take a newspaper. It
is the cheapest thing he can buy. Ev
ery time a hen has laid an egg, bis pa
per is paid for that week. It costs less
than a postage stump less than to send
or receive a letter. It comes to you
every day rain or shine, calm or stormy.
No matter what happens.it enters your
door a welcome friend, full of sunshine,
cheer and Interest, It opens the door
of the great world and puts your face
with its people and its great events. It
shortens the long winter nights. It is
your advisor, gossipur and friend. No
man is just to his children who does
not give them the local paper. No
man is good to himself who does not
take newspapers. Yoakum (Texas)
