Fruitgrowers are well pleased by the victory won by the Umpqua Val ley Fruit Union in tho Supreme Court of Washington. It marks the missing or the day when fruit was held as the plaything of the specu lator und puts it on a firm, substan tial basis as a commercial commod ity. Tbe affair started In lit 17 when, V. C. Kddy represented the plaintiff.
