Moore, of this city, left for Portland this morning, and will make an ex tended visit there and at other Wil lamette valley points. From Port land Mrs. Carter will go to Seattle for a visit. Home From Gurdiner. Attorney J. O. Watson returned Saturday evening from a business trip to Gardiner and Reedsport. He states that these communities have a decided air of prosperity and. that thlngB generally are moving along very brisk in. a buslnoss way. Ferte. wife and' little daugh ter, passed through Roseburg this morning enroute to Los Angeles, where they will visit relatives. Mr. Ferte Is a salesman for the Ritter Drug Co., of Spokane, v Earl Strong, who has been spend ing the week end in this city, re turned this morning to Oakland, which place he is engaged in farm ing. Riddle, accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. Dave Croshy, went to Eugene to be present at the graduation exercises of her grand daughter, Mis Margaret Crosby. Riddle Tribune. There appears to have been some misunderstanding as to whether "Barney," a Kentucky saddler, rid den In the parade last week, was really entitled to that name, or whether the animal was owned by Mr. Dixon, along with four other horses that attracted attention of ev erybody. "Barney" may not be fem inine, but the name answered very well, it being written so instead of "Bonnie". Mrs. Helen B. Harrison, also, should have been given credit with ownership of the horse, as It later developed, although this Infor mation was not given out to the re-! porter at the time. Captain Sullivan, brother of Mrs. A. R. Marsh, of Riddle, and Mrs S. K. Sykos, of this city, passed through Roseburg Saturday night en route to Camp Lewis.
