home of Mrs. M. W. Aldrlch In River
side last Saturday. A simple lunch
was served and a program rendered.
Mrs. Aldrlch was chairman of tho
committee, and her helpers included

and Mrs. A. A. Turncll. The proceeds
amounted to $4.80, which will bo

Clyde Adair, who is employed at
the Douglas County Creamery, of tills
city, was lined $2 this morning when
found cutting corners. Mr. Adair
was driving a horse and buggy at the
time of the arrest.
Mrs. F. L. Russell, who has been
visiting with her daughter, Mrs. S.
M. Kelly, of Glengary, returned to
tier home In this city this afternoon.
Mrs. Itussell was accompanied home
by Mrs. W. H. Brown, of Mendlclno,
Calif., who will be her guest during
her stay here of several weeks.
Levi White, who 1b a member of
the 10th Columbia, C. A. C, passed
through this cfty this atternoon en
routo to Fort Stevens. Mr. White Is
well known in this city aud for the
past five weeks has been confined
to a hospital at the Presidio in San
Francisco, where he underwent an
operation for appendicitis. He states
his condition normal at present and
having gained his average weight
