The streets were crowded with spectators who were highly pleaded with the entertainment offered. The number of entries were to great that it was necessary to hold three elimination heats In order to arrange the llnals. Those who' competed in -e fln- als were Hugh Harrison, Frank Poole, who won second place and Itollin Lobaugh, who at- talned third position. They all were apeedy racers and furnish- ed thrills galore for the crowds. Tho winner of the light weight race was Hugh Harrispn on a light weight Harley-Davidson. A great deal of interest was displayed today in the eugenics contest which was held at the JMcClallen hotel-, many entries having been listed with the chairman, Mrs. Dexter Rice. This feature, which has been only recently introduced into the program of the strawberry carnival Is rapidly rounding into one of the most patroniz- ed and this year proved its 'growth. Tho committee was as- sisted In the examinations by Drs. Houck, Lehrbach, Seoly, Finlay, and Shoemaker. Mr. Graham Is eminently qualified for such service, toaving many years training in Y. M. C. A. work and has been pastor of the St. Andrews Presbyterian church In Minneapolis for the 7 years. His cirurch gave him leave of absence to take ur this work, realizing what a vast Held to bo covered and wonderful results ac complished. ' Mr. Graham had not been notified at which of the training camits he would be stationed. Mrs. Graham, nee Miss Kate Full erton, will return here to slay with her parents during Mr. Graham's ab sence. Mr. Graham Is a brother of Lieut John Graham, of the Royal field ar tillery, who lost his life In service In Prance last September and is also a nephew of Rev. J. A.
