Editor Evening News: Will you kindly give apace in your paper to correct a number of mtaleauing state riienla appearing In an article headed "Grangers Ask Kor Farming Ma chinery." FliHt the committee wan composed of M . K nlng, Adums, McCormlck and TJomBland. Second, we aked for pulling and threshing murhinery at cost. Third, we did not state that we were putting in large quantities of beans. We mentioned a definite number of acres. We are not afflicted with wind on the brain neither have wo been bitten by the boosting bug. Tho part referring to the hltchiu?. rack committee Is also misleading Anyone reading It would naturally believe that the time-honored policy of "stalling" the farmer had made another tally. The reporter entirely forgot to mention the Instructions given the secretary regarding thh matter. Jtut the biggest, baldest, most mis leading distortion of facts Is in th? part relating to the bond Issue. The members of South Deer Creek Grange did not report that they were heartily In favor of the bonds. Mr. TjoniHland and myself stated that we favored the bonds, but that sentiment In our locality was strongly against the bonds. Neither Mr. McCormlck nor Mr. Adams mentioned the bonds during the meeting, and to the best of my knowledge are both opposed to the proposed bond Ihsucs, both state and county. Jn ipassing I will mention that South Deer Creek Grange at the last regular meeting went on rocord as opposing the state bond Issue. There seems to bo a determined ef fort In certain quarters to claim fav orable sentiment for tho proposed bonds regardless of actual facta. Such tactics do no good. They mere ly lend added color to tho statements of opponents of the measure .when they claim that it is not being put through on its merits, but is being hurrahed along by a bunch of boost ers or worse who have axes to grind. Personally, I favor the proposed bond issue, but for the love of com mon sense let it stand or fall on its merits as a plain buslnoss .proposi tion, (live us facts, figures, reasons for the distribution of tho funus, but spare us any more of the "that little girl's crazy about me" stuff, for, take it from one of nor brothers, she Isn't.
