The remarkable spurt of the Cleve land Imliuus is being attributed on many sides to their all-star outfield nd the fine work of the outer gar deners is being credited largely to Tris Speaker. A large majority of fans are persuaded that Tris alone can be thanked for the rejuvenation of the Cleveland club and there's little doubt that he has been a great influence. He covers to perfection his territory in the outfield and other fielders are inspired to do the same. He makes impossible catches and his co-workers go after the next sure hit determined to bring it down, At bat Speaker has a way of delivering a bingle in a pinch that makes it seem very easy. His teammates feel sura they can do it, too, and they do. Roth has been playing an excellent all round game; Graney has been hitting like a fiend, and Elmer Smith, a ycung utility player, is being hailed in Cleveland as one of the big finds of the season.
