Rev. Eaton, pastor of the Baptist
church In Roseburg, delivered a fine
sermon at the Glengary school house
Sunday afternoon. A good sized
crowd was present.
Listen for "wedding bolls" of a
young couple in Glengary.
The W. C. T. U. was well attended
last Wednesday at Mrs. Heed's of
Roberts creek, and It was voted by
the members present that they
should have an Ice cream social next
Saturday night at the Frank Wilson
hall on the old Cooper place. Ice
cream will be for sale at 10 cents a
dish with cake.
Quito a crowd gathered on the
banks at Carnes station last Thurs
day night when the Liberty Bell pass
ed through. It was a grand sight.
Margaret I.acey arrived home on
the two o'clock train Sunday from
Myrtlo Creek where she spent a
week visiting among friends. She
reported a very pleasant time.
LuesBla Johnson has been staying
with her sister-in-law, Ora Johnson,
while her ihuaband has been away
with the hay balers.
Mrs. McGhohey's sister, Mrs.
Kramer, from Tuson, Ariz., is hero
visiting. She expects to stay till the
first of August. Her son is with her.
Mrs. Carnes and her big boy are
getting along fine, also Mrs. Nelson
and her baby girl.
The older folks seem to be taking
more interest in tho Christian En
deavor latoly. A number of them
woro present among the young folks
last Sunday night. We are glad to
see them come and hope that more
will tnke an interest later.

Tho-Ladles Aid Society and the
Kpworth League of the M. E. church
held a Joint entertainment at the
academy on Saturday evening. Aft
or a short program, refreshments
were served consisting of cake, cof
fee and ice cream, the proceeds of
the evening were used for church
purposes.

Mr. and Mrs. Athorton, of Boston.
are here for a few days visiting the
latter's brother, G. W. Altlerson, and

Walter Kockin has started hauling
wood to Roseburg.
Mrs. R. W. Van Wey Is In Salem
to see her great granddaughter, who
arrived at the capital July 10. R. W.
