building, on North Jack sen street,
appropriated a quantity of goodies,
about l.l'.- in cash and escaped.
Tiio tiicu was discovered this
morning w.it-u Mr. Stapleton opened
his establishment fur the day's busi
ness. An investigation revealed the
fact that the rubbers had entered an
adjoining room through a rear win
dow, trom which they walked into
Stapleton's resort through an unlock
ed door.
The robbery was reported to the'
officers, who are now searching for .
the guilty parties.

Yesterday afternoon was the sec
ond day of the Eradburn, Collier,
Zurcher Thanksgiving party which
wr.s given at the Parish house. The
same. color scheme was carried out in
the decorations as on the previous
day, yellow, red and brown being the
colors used, symbolic of the fall
colors. Chains of paper turkeys in
these colors were used extensively
in the decorations, while the Thanks
giving feature was further employed
by using largo pumpkin bowls filled
with red apples. As on the previous
day progressive thimbles was the
chief1 feature of the afternoon, and
the wish bones, means used for win
ning the prize. Punch was dispens
ed from a prettily decorated table
by Miss Mildred Wilson. On a beau
tiful table in the center of the room
a miniature turkey was hitched to a
pumpkin bowl filled with apples. The
h an i ess was of red satin ribbon. The
prize a handsome cupid was won by
Mrs. Buchanan,
A most tempting four-course lun
cheon was then served on small
ti b'es by four beautiful young ladies.
In this the Thanksgiving Idea was
again predominant. Miss Walsh
was at the piano while tho luncheon
was being served, and her music was
much enjoyed.
There were present about sixty
ladies, all of whom would readily
concede that a prettier party had not
toon given in Hocsuurg fur many
months.
Amended articles of incorporation
were this morning filed in the
jt 1 circuit court by the Douglas Land and

Year reception at the White House
on January 1. President Wilson has
broken another precedent which hii
stood for a hundred years. Instead
of remaining to hold a reception, the
president said that he would leave
Washington for a brief holiday vacation.
